Altamira, Tamaulipas.- Con la finalidad de ampliar la cobertura en los servicios de salud hacia la población abierta y en particular, a los grupos de mayor vulnerabilidad social, el Ayuntamiento de Altamira en coordinación con el sistema para el Desarrollo Integral de la Familia y el Sector Salud, ha efectuado durante el presente año una serie de acciones en este sentido, favoreciendo así a miles de altamirenses.
La alcaldesa Alma Laura Amparán Cruz informó que con el respaldo de la iniciativa privada se incrementó la infraestructura en materia de atención médica, con la instalación de dos nuevas casas de salud en las comunidades de Francisco Medrano y Aquiles Serdán, además de la rehabilitación de la clínica del Sistema DIF en la Zona Centro, la cual en breve se pondrá en funcionamiento.
“Porque valoramos la salud de los altamirenses, en ese rubro se va recortando la brecha del rezago, pues hace dos años, el 85 por ciento de la población tenía derecho a la cobertura de salud y hoy, alcanzamos ya un 90 por ciento con once mil nuevos derechohabientes que son atendidos con toda la calidad y calidez por parte del personal médico con el que contamos”, mencionó.
Asimismo, precisó que a través de las jornadas municipales se brinda atención médica y dental de forma gratuita a toda la ciudadanía, además de la entrega de medicamentos y el seguimiento, en clínica, de los casos que ameriten un tratamiento especializado.
Amparán Cruz recordó, por otra parte, que gracias al respaldo altruista de la Clínica de los Ojos S.A., un grupo de oftalmólogos especialistas provenientes de Nuevo León efectuaron, sin costo, cirugías de cataratas a cien pacientes adultos mayores en situación de vulnerabilidad, en las instalaciones del Hospital General de Altamira.
Puntualizó que adicionalmente se han emprendido campañas de salud para la prevención del cáncer de mama entre el sector femenino y el cáncer de próstata dirigido a la población masculina.
“Activaremos en poco tiempo una campaña de salud para corregir problemas de estrabismo entre los niños y jóvenes en edad escolar y de escasos recursos, a fin de optimizar su calidad visual y proporcionarles un mejor nivel de vida y desarrollo”, expresó.
